Last night a friend treated me to one of the best shows I’ve seen in years. Dick Powell’s In the Mood For Jazz which is giving its final performance at Cafe Cleopatra tonight has all the makings of an instant classic. Perfect pacing, extreme talent, a beautiful singer with a buttery smooth voice and wickedly witty writing. If you are in Montreal and want to see so one of the ongoing Zoofest shows, do not miss this show. It is so good I would even recommend you cancel any other plans you have and see this instead.
